Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This policy describes Autofill Forms (the “Extension”) and the product website at autofillforms.extsite.tech (the “Site”). The Extension fills web forms from profiles you save.
Summary
- Profiles stay in this browser. Filling a form does not upload the page or your details.
- A script runs on pages you visit so a fill you start can reach the fields, and so an optional prompt can offer to save what you typed.
- We do not sell personal information. There is no account.
- Anonymous usage counts and error reports may go to servers we run. They do not include form values or the address of the page you filled.
What stays on your device
In chrome.storage.local:
- Your profiles: names, field values, custom fields, rules, and site exceptions.
- A random analytics id and a short cache token, used only for the anonymous counter.
- A counter of completed fills, used only to decide when to show an in-product feedback prompt.
In chrome.storage.sync (so it can follow your Chrome profile): interface language, and how often the rating and feedback prompts have been shown or completed.
In chrome.storage.session (cleared when the browser session ends): a short-lived note while the on-page save prompt is open.
Uninstalling the Extension, or clearing extension data, removes this storage.
What happens on a page
When you press Fill this page, use Ctrl+Shift+U, or choose fill from the right-click menu, the Extension runs a script in that tab. The script reads field names, labels, and placeholders, writes the matching profile values, and fires the input events the page expects. It does not send those values to us.
If you turn on the offer to save, the same kind of script can notice values you typed and ask whether to keep them in a profile. That choice stays in the Extension.
You can export or import a JSON file yourself. That file is yours. We do not receive it.
Permissions
- storage — keep profiles, settings, and the counters above.
- scripting — run the fill or the save step in the tab you chose.
- contextMenus — add Fill this page and single-field items to the right-click menu.
- Host access to all sites — a form can live on any site you open. The fill runs when you trigger it. The optional save prompt only reads fields for that offer. Neither one uploads the page.
Data that may leave the device
- Product analytics (Umami, on a server we run) — anonymous counts such as install, a fill starting, a fill finishing, and an export. No field values and no page address.
- Error reports (GlitchTip, on a server we run) — the error text and a short action name, such as fill. Not the form, and not the site you were on.
- Uninstall survey — if you remove the Extension, Chrome may open
https://feedback.extsite.tech/?ext=autofillforms. Sending it is optional. - Ideas form — the in-product prompt can open
https://features.extsite.tech/?ext=autofillforms. Sending it is optional.
The Site uses the same analytics host to count page views. It does not receive your profiles.
