FAQ
Short answers about what Autofill Forms fills, where the data lives, and what to do when a page stays empty. The same points are on the home page. This page is here so you can link to one answer.
Passwords and cards
The extension does not store or enter passwords or card numbers. Use Chrome’s password manager for those. Profiles are for contact details, addresses, and custom fields you add.
Overwriting a field
In settings, turn on the option that skips fields which already contain text. A value you typed stays put.
Where profiles live
In this browser, in the extension’s local storage. Filling a page does not upload the form. Export writes a JSON file you can keep. Details are in profiles stay on your device.
Pages it can fill
Ordinary websites, including forms inside a frame. Not Chrome’s internal pages, and not the Chrome Web Store. See when a page will not fill.
Shortcut
Ctrl+Shift+U on Windows and Linux, Command+Shift+U on Mac. How to change it is in the shortcut page.
More than one identity
Add a profile for home, work, or a client. Select it before you fill. See several profiles.
